The speaker simulators are necessary to take the high-end edge off of the line-level signals from the Marshalls’ and Peaveys’ preamp sections. Instead the signals are sent to three pedals (a Cry Baby wah, a Boss OC-2 octaver, and the abovementioned Phase 90) before going into a rack containing speaker simulators and power amps.

He's had a framed picture of this guitar hanging in his bathroom for at LEAST 2 decades, so I figured it would be a fitting Christmas gift for a good man, and also a good way to win him over (my girlfriend has Cystic Fibrosis, so he's understandably a little overprotective.)Īnyway, I've been working with a strict $200 budget, with which I bought a 2005 Eleca guitar ($50, kjjiji), a gold lefty-tremolo bridge ($40, ebay), gold kluson-style tuners ($20, aliexpress) gold strap-pins ($5), a big-ol' spool of pickup wire ($15, scrapyard), a Bad Monkey Pedal ($20, kijiji), and a Marshall MS4 micro amp ($3, thrift store), and a set of D'Addario NYXL strings ($12).
